鬚鯨
在「鯨」的世界裏，可以找到鬚鯨跟齒鯨，通常都會稱鬚鯨為「無齒之徒」，因為他們的口腔裏就只有幾百塊的鯨鬚板，有些鯨的腹部會有腹褶紋以讓他們可以吃到更多的食物，不過也有一些是沒有的，譬如說露脊鯨、弓頭鯨等。因為戰前的大規模捕鯨使他們的數量大減，戰後的保育工作亦讓數量有所增加，不過目前亦面臨其他的海洋問題如海廢及鬼網等，都威脅到他們的生命。我們希望能提高對我們珍貴的海洋朋友的認識，讓更多的人了解他們所面臨的嚴峻形勢。
Baleen Whales
In the world of whales, we can find Baleen Whales and Toothed Whales. We can also call the Baleen Whales as the “Toothless Whales”. There were hundreds of baleen plates in their mouth instead of a tooth, some even have belly folds so that they can eat more food, while some do not such as the Right Whale and Bowhead Whale. Due to the large scale commercial whaling before the war, the whale population once drastically decreased, luckily the conservation works conducted afterwards did result positively in recovering their numbers. However, they are still facing other marine issues such as marine debris and ghost nets which are threatening their population. We hope to raise awareness towards our precious friends and let more people understand the grim situation they are facing.
With each sale, we will donate 5% of the profit to Cat Society(Hong Kong) Limited 香港群貓會 to support their contribution to the conservation and education of biodiversity in Hong Kong.
